Jan Mechl has worked in the real estate market for 17 years. He gained experience at JLL, where he worked his way up from junior positions to Director of Office Leasing, and brokered a number of office lease transactions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, with volumes of tens of thousands of square metres, on behalf of both owners and users.
During his professional career, he has worked with developers of and investors in many major projects such as Waltrovka, Enterprise, ArtGen, Harfa Office Park, Blox and Myslbek. His services in complex lease transactions, renegotiations and relocations have been retained by SAP, Newton University, Deutsche Bank, Ogilvy, L’Oréal, Kantar and Doctors Without Borders, among others.
At Wood & Company, Jan will lead the office leasing department and be responsible for managing the agenda across the CEE region. “The past year and a half has been very dynamic for us in terms of acquisitions,” says Jiří Hrbáček, Portfolio Manager and Vice-Chairman of the Board of WOOD & Company, “In addition to the Czech and Slovak markets, we have also entered the Polish market, where we are negotiating the purchase of another office building. We are growing and this requires reinforcement of our team. I am convinced that Jan, with his many years of experience in the commercial real estate segment, will be a valuable asset and a guarantor of satisfied tenants.

Jan holds MSc degrees from Sheffield Hallam University and Nottingham Trent University. He is fluent in English. His interests include cooking, mountaineering, skiing, music and sports. He enjoys spending his free time with his children, adventuring and exploring the world.
